News Update: DDS establishes fact-finding committee to investigate allegations

Deccan Development Society (DDS) currently faces allegations of irregularities, with disputes emerging from former community members, staff, and board members. In response, the DDS board has resolved to form an independent committee of three to four members to investigate these claims and recommend necessary actions. The committee shall:

  1. Examine all allegations made against DDS within the past two years.
  2. Review all relevant records, documentation, and correspondence.
  3. Engage in discussions with the community to gather their views and concerns.
  4. Submit a comprehensive report outlining observations, findings, and recommendations.

The five members nominated in committee are:

1. Prof Padmaja Shaw, Former Head, Department of Communication & Journalism,Osmania University
2. Ms P Jamuna, Advisor – Gender Wing, SERP
3. Mr Kanneganti Ravi, Social Activist, Rythu Swarajya Vedika
4. Mr R Venkat Reddy, National Convener, MV Foundation
5. Mr M Anjaneyulu , Founder Member, Aksharam, Hyderabad.

The committee shall commit to ensure enough time for an impartial and thorough investigation in accordance with the agreed upon Terms of Reference. The committee shall provide a comprehensive report detailing:

  1. A summary of all allegations examined.
  2. Observations and findings.
  3. Recommendations for further action.

Deccan Development Society is committed to provide secretarial assistance to the committee throughout the entire period of the investigation for the collection and recording of data and oral narratives, facilitate discussions with community members and offer necessary support for access and ensure that all requested documents and information are provided in a timely manner.

The investigation report will also be shared publicly upon completion.
